Robert Eyler PhD, Chief Economist of the Marin Economic Forum and the North Bay Life Science Alliance, opened the California Pavilion’s program of presentations at the Bio2016 Conference in San Francisco on June 7th. His presentation on Growing and Moving in the North Bay highlighted the cluster of life science businesses in the North Bay’s four counties (Marin, Sonoma, Solano and Napa). He also discussed local government support for life science growth in the region and other social, economic and education factors which make the North Bay an appealing location for business expansion, relocation and start-up entrepreneurship.

IDEX Health & Science recently showcased its expanded portfolio of fluidic and optical technologies at Analytica 2016, the biennial trade fair for laboratory technology, analysis and biotechnology. The company, which operates a valves and degassers facility in Rohnert Park, has expanded its portfolio via the recent integration of Semrock and Melles Griot, and the acquisition of CIDRA® Precision Services, which was announced last July. “The realm of life sciences changes at a rapid pace and our aim is to provide continued support to our customers, to meet their most demanding challenges, and accelerate their time-to-market through a better alignment of people, products, and engineering resources.
