In a recent Marin Independent Journal article, the Marin Economic Forum’s chief economist, Rob Eyler and NBLSA chairman Chris Stewart highlighted the contribution that the life sciences make to the economic well-being of Marin. As an indicator of momentum that life science businesses have in the region, the article references a recent study by prestigious Wall Street firm, the Jeffries Group, identifying five companies in the life sciences/bio-medical industry “poised for strong growth.” Of the five companies named, two, BioMarin and Ultragenyx Pharmaceuticals, are headquartered in Marin, with major employee populations in Novato and San Rafael.
